The new Maritime Traffic Safety Law will come into effect on September 1st

However, whether it is airplanes in the sky or ships at sea, they cannot escape our surveillance for any purpose, so this kind of reconnaissance actually has greater symbolic significance.To be honest, the more dangerous ones are actually some unmanned underwater vehicles, which carry various detection equipment and can collect hydrological data around China. Over time, this will have a negative impact on national security. Especially since these data can also be used in the military field, the consequences would be unimaginable if not prevented. Fortunately, this gap will finally be filled.
On August 30th, the media reported that the new version of the Maritime Traffic Safety Law, which was passed in April this year, will be officially implemented from September 1st, 2021, with a total of 14 new and improved legal systems. According to the new law, China's Maritime Safety Administration has issued a notice on the reporting requirements for foreign vessels entering China's territorial waters, stipulating that starting from September, five types of foreign vessels entering the territorial waters should make corresponding reports.This includes submarines, nuclear powered ships, ships carrying radioactive materials, ships carrying chemicals, toxic and hazardous materials, and other ships that may pose a threat to China's maritime traffic safety in accordance with laws and regulations. If the other party refuses to report as required, the maritime department has the right to handle it according to law.Firstly, the new law can be understood as follows: those detection devices that attempt to sneak into China's coastal waters cannot be reported. After all, there is no such thing as espionage and self reporting. Therefore, once discovered, we can confiscate and destroy them on our own and never give them another opportunity.Secondly, it can also be seen as a powerful measure to safeguard China's sovereignty and territorial integrity. For example, as the territory of China, South China Sea Islands, there are always some gangsters who try every means to challenge our sovereignty in the region. Their intentions can be described as very sinister. However, if they want to play borderline games again in the future, it may not be so easy. With the help of the "Coast Guard Law" passed earlier this year, the effect is bound to be very good.
A while ago, the British aircraft carrier Queen Elizabeth entered the South China Sea, clamoring to cross the so-called "disputed waters" and enter within 12 nautical miles of islands and reefs. However, after our side issued a warning and sent the Shandong Fleet south, the British side first became timid and dared not do anything outrageous. The aircraft carrier formation left the South China Sea at the fastest speed possible.Generally speaking, military vessels are definitely not allowed to enter territorial waters at will, but for civilian vessels, the requirements are much lower. Therefore, the West often uses civilian vessels to disguise themselves and engage in some despicable activities. What China needs to do is to completely cut off their attempts to engage in illegal activities. Of course, the scope of the new law also includes the Diaoyu Islands. Japan has been causing trouble here recently, and it is time to establish rules for it.
It is worth mentioning that in order to truly block bandits from entering the country, legislation alone is far from enough. In the end, we still have to compete based on our strength and who has the courage to fight to the death. In recent years, the strength of China's navy has steadily increased, and the launch of the third aircraft carrier is imminent. The South China Sea is no longer a place beyond the reach of the People's Liberation Army. Any country that does not believe in evil and wants to play with fire has sufficient strength to respond.In the past, the West was only accustomed to imposing its own rules on other countries and was not accustomed to being demanded by them in turn. However, everything has a process of adaptation, and I believe that over time, they will act honestly and cautiously. After all, the initiative is already in our hands, and if we want "freedom of navigation", we can do it, but if we cross the line, we will be hit hard.
